About JHYM

Silver thread, drawn by hand

Silver filigree — yin hua si in Chinese — is a Sichuan craft in which fine silver wire is drawn, twisted and soldered into openwork shapes. No casting, no stamping, no mould: the piece exists only because a pair of hands shaped it.

JHYM works with artisans in Chengdu, Sichuan, where this technique has been practised for centuries. Each brooch, earring, ring and pendant is built from raw silver wire and finished by hand, which is why no two pieces are identical and why the surface keeps catching the light from different angles.

What we make

Pure silver pieces designed to be worn rather than stored: brooches pinned to a lapel or a bag, earrings light enough to forget, rings and pendants in the same drawn-thread language.
